About us

Dunrossness Riding Club started up around 1977 and is still going strong.  We run lessons two days a week all year round.  Currently, over thirty children attend lessons every weekend.  Most of the ponies we use are Shetlands with one or two bigger ponies for the kids who insist on growing!

 

All our members work towards club certificates in their lessons, covering Riding, Tack, Horse Management and Stable Management.  We also have club Road Safety Certificates.

 

We try to organise a few events for our members every year, including gymkhanas, a show and a weekend camp.  When possible, we try to take members to other shows around Shetland.  At the end of the year placings from all shows are totalled up and the club trophies are presented at our annual awards party.
